    Lara Croft History

There are two versions of Lara Croft's history. The first one was originated in the first six Tomb Raider games, while on the second; a recreated history for the seventh game in the series, Tomb Raider: Legend. Some information on the other story is opposed by the other one, such as her father’s name. In the original story, his father’s name was Henshingly Croft and became Richard Croft on the Legend. This was most likely a try to tie-in with the piece of the Tomb Raider movies.

    Original History

Lara Croft, the daughter of Lord Henshingly Croft, was born in England on February 14th 1968. She was brought up in the secure world of aristocracy and luxury of nobility. She was privately tutored from age three to eleven, and then began her formal schooling at Wimbledon High School for Girls until she was sixteen.

It all started to change when her parents sent her to Gordonstoun, one of Britain's most prominent boarding schools. She studied and stayed there for two years and found the mountains of Scotland. She developed her interests on exploration, rock climbing and shooting.

When she turned 18, she went to a Swiss Finishing School. It was in the year 1988, on Lara’s way home from her holiday skiing trip, her chartered plane crashed deep within the mountains of the Himalayas, leaving Lara as the sole survivor. She was determined to survive and used her wits in hostile conditions, a world away from her sheltered upbringing. She spent two weeks wandering alone through the Himalayas before walking into a remote mountain village in Tokakeriby, Nepal. Her harrowing experience made an intellectual penetration and emotional depth on her being.

Over the following eight years she acquired an intimate knowledge of ancient civilizations across the world, while continuing her education at Oxford, then at the University of Chicago in the United States. After graduating from finishing school at the age of twenty-one, Lara's parents wanted to wed her to the Earl of Farringdon, but were less than convinced about her chosen lifestyle. They ceased to associate with their daughter, cutting her monthly allowance. Still the Earl waited patiently.

Lara turned to writing to fund her radical lifestyle and becomes more independent. She is currently employed as an associate researcher for the BritishMuseum in London, and continues to write articles and abstracts for their various publications. Lara became widely known for discovering several ancient sites of profound archaeological interest. In the last few years she discovered and recovered the Ark of the Covenant and the Hoard of Gabriel Croft, amongst other antiquities. She hit the headlines again when she hunted out and killed Bigfoot in North America. She published travel books and detailed journals of her exploits like “A Tyrannosaurus is gnawing at my head” and “Slaying Bigfoot”, and continue to write and publish series of adventure novels.

New Made History (from Tomb Raider Legend and Movies)

Lara Croft is the 11th Countess of Abbingdon. She is the daughter of the late archaeologist Richard Croft (10th Earl of Abbingdon) and Amelia Croft, Countess of Abbingdon. Even as a child, she showed exceptional intelligence making her a gifted child. She went to the Abbingdon Girls School between the ages of three and six.

At an early age of nine, Lara survived a plane crash in the Himalayas, shortly after her mother mysteriously vanished. She somehow miraculously survived a solo ten-day trek across the Himalayan Mountains, one of the most hostile environments on the world. When she arrived in Katmandu, she immediately contacted her father to save her from the accident.

Lara spends the rest of her childhood under the close supervision of her Archeologist father, Richard Croft. They traveled around the world to several different archaeological dig sites and became her father's full time apprentice.

When Lara was fifteen, her father went missing in Cambodia. At the age of eighteen, she now inherited the Croft estates and became Countess of Abbingdon. Now, Lady Lara Croft has already eclipsed her father's career and has been accredited with the discovery of some sixteen archeological sites of international significance.

As an achiever, many questioned her ability and even hailed her as treasure hunter. Lady Croft herself guards her privacy with complete determination, which further adds to the veil of the mystery that surrounds her life and work. Therefore, she continues to be the focus of wild speculations and intense debate. Idealized and criticized in equal measure, she is perhaps one of the most fascinating and enigmatic figures of our times.

    Lara Croft Costumes

    Cold Weather Outfit

Clothing is as important to Lara as any gear she might carry, and in colder climes of the world, nothing beats a heavy but stylish heavy jacket and hood. Temperature can be a fickle thing, so she usually tries to dress in layers to adapt to her ever-changing circumstances.

    Classic Outfit

Lara learned that nothing beats a good pair of boots, sturdy cargo shorts, and a close-fitting top that breaths well and dries quickly. While her choice of style and color has changed over time, her sensibilities are as practical as ever.

    Evening Dress

Every situation demands special attire, and her sleek black cocktail dress is the perfect choice for a corporate formal party. It restricts her behavior to what’s appropriate for proper social gatherings like no place to hide gear or weapons. But she has hidden assets that are more than up to the challenge.

    Motorcycle Outfit

Lara’s motorcycle outfit is in the comfort of a sexy properly fitted dark leather gear.

    Devices and Weapons Used

    Knives

She uses different knives including a curved dagger and a small knife tucked into her boots.

    Magnetic Grapple

Lara can use the grapple by throwing it around an enemy’s waist and dragging them into danger, such as a pit, or she can drag them into range for close range attacks.

    Twin Pistols

The twin pistols are Lara’s signature companions. These are counterbalanced to reduce recoil, and include custom capacity magazines. It is ever reliable and ever lethal.

    Personal Light Source

Affixed to the forward strap of her backpack, this light can provide temporary illumination in the darkest corners of all her expeditions.

    Shotgun

For times when a few well-aimed bullets aren’t sufficient, Lara appreciates the solid familiarity of a simple pump-action shotgun. It can always be counted on to fire a wide spray of buckshot capable of delivering a great deal of damage at close range.

    Headset

It is Lara’s hi-tech, advanced eyes and ears gadget. Her headset keeps her in touch back at the mansion and allows them to see what she sees and communicate with her.

    Red Flares

Back before light sources became more portable, reliable, and reusable, flares were the standard on lighting up the interior of a dark tomb. Lara’s favorites were always single use strontium nitrate flares with a plastic wind resistant cap for easy lighting.

    Grenades

Fragmentation grenades are frequently available when dealing with mercenaries. With pins firmly in place, a few grenades can look nicely onto her belt, and they offer the kind of concussive force an archeologist might need when in a hurry or surrounded by unpleasant company.

    Jeep Commander

The rugged determination and go-anywhere-handle-anything qualities shared by both jeep vehicles and Lara Croft make an unforgettable partnership between the two.

    PDA

Her PDA is her field workspace. It stores and organizes notes on short term goals as well as useful data on gear, weapons, and progress.

    RAD (Remote Analysis Device)

Lara’s state of the art binoculars have been augmented with a RAD with simple pattern recognition software that can provide some tactical data on various objects it is focused on.

    Assault Rifle

With Lara’s tendency to use her enemies’ tools against them, they should think twice about bringing in high-powered assault rifles.

    Ducati

The latest adventure is always riding on her Ducati and features riding scenes in which Lara relies on the performance of the original naked street fighter to get her out of some tricky situations.
